What can I say but WOW. I absolutely love the crochet designs of the 60's and 70's and this book is from 1973. I got it this morning from The World Of Books through Amazon.I love my second hand bargain books. OK it is a bit musty smelling and yellowing at the edges of the page but when I pay so little for a book this is what I expect. Every page I turned I was saying Oh I love that, have to make that. There are many more designs in the book that I didn't have room to photograph. You will be seeing many designs from this book in the future. I would love to start right now but I have things to finish first. Tempting as the patterns are.
I made this jacket for myself a little while ago but truth be told I made it a bit on the small side for me and haven't really worn it. Making the crochet buttons for the circles waistcoat made me think about re-vamping this jacket. As I had wool left over I made crochet chains for button loops and crochet buttons and sewed them edge to edge so as not to lose any of the width of the jacket. Hey presto. Problem solved. It's not edge to edge that didn't meet and kept tucking itself behind my armpits. Now it is a jacket that stays put in the right place and will get worn. Sometimes it's good to have a re think about things that I don't wear and find a solution.
I am off to knit club tonight and looking forward to it. First though I have to go out in the rain to get some money from the bank for tonight and I am not looking forward to that bit.

I totally love some of the patterns in that book. I collect vintage patterns and always enjoy your posts about them. I think I will have to look out for that book!
that is one cute book must be something in the air i have been all over to thrift stores look for old crochet and knitting patterns an love it.
I agree with you on those patterns. Most of the ones you posted would be ones I would do. I'll have to see if I can get that hook here.
Good job revamping the sweater. You're a genius!!!!
Oh my gosh, those are some beautiful things in that book, and not out of style either. I would totally wear several of them. You may have started a run on that book! LOL
The last time I remember you posted a vintage sweater book I had to go straight away to Amazon and get it. Now I'm thinking the same thing...grrrrr. And although I do love the other book, I have yet to make something for myself.
But.............
Great book, the designs are lovely. I love vintage paaterns and have a growing (daily!) collection but tend to stick with knitting, my safe craft. I did learn crochet last year using a 1960's booklet, aI just couldn't get to grips with the new books.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
